Ramayana circuit
Places linked to Rama's journey
Temples and sites associated by tradition with the events of the Ramayana – from Rama's birth at Ayodhya through his exile in the forests of central and southern India to the bridge to Lanka at Rameswaram. The Government of India promotes a 'Ramayana Circuit' under its Swadesh Darshan scheme.
Following Rama's path – Ayodhya, Chitrakoot, Panchavati, Kishkindha, Rameswaram – lets pilgrims walk through the epic. Each place has a local sthala purana tying it to an episode.
These identifications come from tradition rather than archaeology, and several places claim the same episode.
