Char Dham (Adi Shankara)
Badrinath, Dwarka, Puri and Rameswaram
The original Char Dham defined by Adi Shankaracharya: four abodes at the four corners of India – Badrinath (north), Dwarka (west), Puri (east) and Rameswaram (south).
Completing all four is considered one of the most meritorious pilgrimages in Hinduism, uniting Vaishnava and Shaiva shrines across the whole country.
