Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration, Puri
Statutory board · Puri, Odisha
SJTA runs the Jagannath temple at Puri under its own state Act. The Act keeps the temple outside the general Odisha endowments law. The administration manages the main shrine and its subsidiary temples, the Ratha Yatra, the Mahaprasad system and pilgrim lodgings. It also maintains the Gundicha temple, the destination of the Ratha Yatra, which reopened to visitors on 30 September 2026 after six years.
How it is run
A Managing Committee headed by the Gajapati Maharaja of Puri, with a Chief Administrator who is an IAS officer. Arabinda Padhee was Chief Administrator in September 2026. The Odisha Commissioner of Endowments is an ex-officio committee member.
