Char Dham of Uttarakhand

Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath

The Chota Char Dham – four Himalayan shrines in Uttarakhand, traditionally visited from west to east: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. Open only from about late April / May to October–November.

Each shrine sits at the source region of a sacred river or in a holy valley – the Yamuna, the Ganga, the Mandakini and the Alaknanda. Registration with the Uttarakhand government is mandatory.
