Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams

Statutory board · Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh

TTD is the autonomous, government-constituted trust that administers the Sri Venkateswara temple at Tirumala, one of the most visited pilgrimage centres in the world. It was created by the Madras government's TTD Act of 1932, and today functions under Andhra Pradesh's endowments law with its own Board and Executive Officer. Beyond Tirumala it runs the Tiruchanur Padmavathi temple, a string of ancient temples around Tirupati and in Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra, and newer Sri Venkateswara temples it has built in Hyderabad, Chennai, Kanyakumari, Delhi, Kurukshetra, Bhubaneswar, Jammu and elsewhere. For a pilgrim, TTD is the single authority for darshan tickets, sevas, accommodation, laddu prasadam, tonsure and free food at Tirumala.

How it is run

The Government of Andhra Pradesh appoints the Chairman and the Board of Trustees (a 2-year term) plus ex-officio members, and posts a senior IAS officer as Executive Officer and member-secretary who runs day-to-day administration. As of July 2026 Wikipedia lists B. R. Naidu (Bollineni Rajagopal Naidu) as Chairman; TTD's own press releases name Anil Kumar Singhal as Executive Officer in January 2026.
